This USB kit relocates the OEM USB/MDI port found in the cubby towards the front of the centre console. The OEM USB port is removed and placed behind the cubby. The cable attached to the USB kit is routed through the console and connected to the OEM port, retaining connectivity to the stereo.

This USB port replaces the 12v cigarette lighter on the centre console. The cigarette lighter is removed, the USB kit is inserted through the hole in the centre console and locks into place. This upgrade requires no modification to the vehicle.

If you do not have a USB port and instead have the VW MDI connection, an additional cable is required to convert the MDI connection to USB. The MDI to USB cable will then plug into the USB extension cable attached to the USB kit.
